16 Months Update

Here is another update on the little man. We have not weighing or measuring Jayce probably after he turned 13 months or so, plus he missed his 15 months appointment. So, the big appointment along with his measurement will be around his 18 months update. Jayce is absorbing everything around him. He mimicked not only us, but other people he sees and hears outside. It is sometimes cute, but it could be embarrassing. He still loves wheels and anything that has wheels. Lately, I had to carry him around to help him to go to nap/sleep. Luckily, toward the end of his 16 months he is able to go to sleep by himself. Sometimes, I have to sleep next to him until he falls asleep then I move him to his bed. He might cry for less than 10 minutes once he found out I left, but sometimes he continued to sleep. As far as feeding, he could be so picky at times. I felt bad, but TV is a good distraction for him while he eats his food. Unfortunately, his teeth are slowly sprouting out. He has eight teeth only! It is frustrating sometimes because we still have to give him mostly mushy baby food. He is still able to manage to chew adult food, but we still have to be cautious. I have to make sure all his food is soft or at least easily dissolved. He is completely off bottles! Yaay! Sometimes when we travel, we are still using bottles, so we can give him the powdered milk. But, we find a way out of this and will try to mix the bottle and to use a different sippy cup to give him. I guess the bottle is a little convenience for us, but we will try what's good for our son. I could not believe Jayce's speech has improved so much. We are able to understand what he is saying a little better. He usually points and says the words of what he wanted at the same times. He played well with other kids and sometimes even shared his toys. He mastered walking backward and sideways by now and still practicing his running skills. Also, he likes to test us when he wanted something by either giving us the sad pouty lips or crying out loud. He almost memorized all the alphabets, and so far able to say number 1 through 3. There must be a couple of things I missed out here. I probably will be adding more updates on his 17 months update.
